11/11/2006 8:46 PM - GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Keith Aucoin scored the tiebreaking goal midway through the third period and assisted on a first-period goal by Shane Willis in the Albany River Rats victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins Saturday at Van Andel Arena.
Aucoin gave Albany a 3-2 lead 13:04 into the third when he backhanded a shot from the slot past Griffins goaltender Jimmy Howard for a shorthanded goal. The River Rats captain extended his point streak to seven games, including multiple-point performances in five of his last six games.
Peter Tsimikalis also scored for the River Rats, who have won three straight games and four of their last five. Tyler Weiman stopped 34 shots to earn his sixth victory.
Kip Miller had a goal and an assist for the Griffins, who lost their fourth in a row.
The River Rats complete a four-game road trip Wednesday at Binghamton. They return home to host Syracuse Friday and Philadelphia Saturday at Pepsi Arena.
